protein

Human body needs nutrients in order to function well and one of the most important nutrients that your body needs is protein. There are two sources of protein, animal-based protein and vegetable-based protein, but meat contains lots of protein than from nuts and other plants. An athlete needs more protein than those who are only exercising moderately.

It was stated from medical text, Basic Medical Biochemistry – A Clinical Approach that, “Theoretically, A 150-pound man requires a full pound of protein a day for normal bodily processes – and even more is required for maximum health. Your body is highly efficient and can recycle about half of the daily protein requirement for the next day. This means, theoretically, at least 8 ounces of bioavailable protein needs to be consumed each day. Animal-based protein is more bioavailable than vegetable-based protein because [vegetable-based] protein is tied to fiber – which is not digestible or bioavailable. You will typically require more vegetable/nut/seed-based protein. This portion amount is a theoretical maximum – much less is needed for the typical patient.”

For non-vegetarian, meat contains large amount of protein as well as natural fats and Parent Essential Oils or PEOs. However, for vegetarians, you can still acquire protein from seeds and nuts and if raw and unprocessed, you can get good amounts of PEOs, too. Animal-based protein like whole-fat organic cottage cheese, unprocessed cheese and truly pasture eggs are great sources of protein too. You can also get protein from fish. You are not really required to eat meat only to get the required protein, vegetable-based protein is enough if you exercise moderately.
