fish oilAthletes are usually consuming fish oil with their regular diet along with their exercise and training for optimum performance. Both athletes and sports medicine physicians are not aware that PEOs are better than fish oil when combined with their daily diets when aiming optimum performance. Below are the two warnings that all athletes and sports medicine physicians should know about fish oil.

Warning #1: When regular exercising/training, muscles are utilizing glucose in the body. Muscle’s GLUT4 receptor requires plenty of glucose. Glucose is the number 1 muscle fuel during initial exercise/training. GLUT4 is a protein responsible for transporting glucose into cells, and is regulated by insulin. It is known that fish oil raises blood sugar levels and makes insulin requirements increase too, but it does not quite keep up. The blood sugar level stays too high in the bloodstream, but it is not usable as fuel for the tissue. It is therefore conclude that fish oil starves the muscles of an athlete of its fuel needed for optimum performance.

Warning #2: Human Growth Hormone is minimized by carbohydrate consumption. Athletes can and should consume some carbohydrates particularly from whole fruit or living plants, however it is not advisable to overdo it with grains or efforts in the gym will be counteracted. The “Living Foods Diet” is advisable for athletes and combines with PEOs for optimum performance. The Protein Powder / Fruit Smoothie + PEOs combination is ideal. For Athletes wanting more muscle tone needs to know that sugar (carbohydrate) stops the body from producing growth hormone.

Note that: “Excess carbohydrate [more than 4-5 ounces] prevents the body from burning fat and increases stored body fat.” Textbook of Medical Physiology, pages 871, 936; Basic Medical Biochemistry – A Clinical Approach, pages 24, 394.
